Mutate, Baby!

A year ago I woke in the morning / Put my feel upon the ground / Tied my shoes to take a run / Headphones in and swimming in the sound / My walk it quickly turned into a stride / A day like any other / Except for on this day my powers did arrive / It started with a burning hand / I yelled out loud / “Somebody help me!” / Next thing I was ten feet up / Floating with the world below me / I must have looked like an exploding star / Cause my ears rang loud from the crashing of the cars / Just when I was sure that I would burst / The heroes I had read about showed up so glad that they found me first / And said… / I know you’re scared and unprepared / You’re not the only one I swear who’s ever been afraid or felt this way / I know that there’s a plan for you / And everything you’re going through / I’ll stay with you my friend / As long as it takes / Six months back I woke up to a rumbling jet and sirens beneath me / Cigar smoke and sulfur loomed / A brown-haired girl / She ran right through me / I knew it was time I should heed the call / But darling was I ready? / Not at all / A big steel man was looming over me / Said nothing good would change until I took a stand then I would never see / He said… / I know you’re scared and unprepared / You’re not the only one I swear who’s ever been afraid or felt this way / I know that there’s a plan for you / And everything you’re going through / I’ll stay with you my friend / As long as it takes / And everything it stays the same until you turn another page / The only thing to count on love / And that is never gonna change / Just yesterday I received the call / That a girl grew thirty-feet inside a shopping mall / I got flew here as quickly as I could / Cause I know how you feel in a way that no one could / When the voices come at night / Remind yourself that you’re made of starlight / And the worries in your head / Are the drums of a life that you’re gonna have / We’re all just scared and unprepared… / I know you’re scared and unprepared / You’re not the only one I swear who’s ever been afraid or felt this way / I know that there’s a plan for you / And everything you’re going through / I’ll stay with you my friend / As long as it take

I don’t wanna know how it all turns out / I put my time in and I’m hanging around / To see how everything yeah is gonna work out in the end / I don’t know how to feel and I don’t know why / It seems like everyone’s trying to rush through their life / Like knowing how it ends is better than taking the ride / Yeah, we’re moving too quick need a rest stop / Don’t need a cheat sheet baby you can blast off / No spoilers, please / You know that I’m too far down this road of mine to change my lane / And if I could if I could turn this car around or drive ahead I hope I’d say / No spoilers, please / Don’t try and tell me I’m taking my time / I’m trying to live good and I’m trying hard to write a story that I’m proud of though I don’t know yet how it ends / People come and go but our hero remains / Lines on his face but his heart stays the same / Where the black of the ink meets the white of the paper is gray / There’s only so much time that we’re working with / No chapters here that I wanna skip / No spoilers, please / You know that I’m too far down this road of mine to change my lane / And if I could if I could turn this car around or drive ahead I hope I’d say / No spoilers / The party’s always going on the bar is always there / The music never dies so don’t be scared / They’ll try to rush you through because that’s how way it works for them but don’t let them / No spoilers, please / You know that I’m too far down this road of mine to change my lane / And if I could if I could turn this car around or drive ahead I hope I’d say / No spoilers, please / I don’t wanna know how it all turns out / I put my time in and I’m hanging around / To see how everything yeah is gonna work out in the end

I don’t where it went / We didn’t sell it / The world went and changed / And now we own it / Yeah it’s all been rearranged / But nothing stays the same / So yeah let’s talk about it /You can take walk down every aisle / And see the toys you once had as a child / Now there’s nothing left to hide / Everything it has a price / People like you with a lot at stake / People like me with a voice to raise (When They Say) / G-Double-E-K culture is dead / Cause hey I got a question when they forget to mention / The world went and changed and they took it instead / But hey there’s nothing ending I think it’s just beginning / People like you with a lot at stake / People like me with a voice to raise (When They Say) / G-Double-E-K culture is dead / Do you remember when you first collected? / I used to bag and board until the sun set And I’d hang around with friends reading “What If?” and X-Men / I couldn’t live without it / Everything we love / Everything we hate / Every time they end a series run / Every heart that breaks / Some would say that Hollywood it came to be the bad guy / But in truth they turned our culture from a caterpillar to a butterfly / People like you with a lot at stake / People like me with a voice to raise (When They Say) / G-Double-E-K culture is dead / Cause hey I got a question when they forget to mention / The world went and changed and they took it instead / But hey there’s nothing ending I think it’s just beginning / People like you with a lot at stake / People like me with a voice to raise (When They Say) / G-Double-E-K culture is dead / There’s a lighthouse in the ocean / Someone found it / Someone mentioned / All the things that we had known were around / So they teased us / But we made it / Yeah the world changed / Celebrate it / We can lead them / So they don’t run aground / (I’m sayin’) / G-Double-E-K / G-Double-E-K culture ain’t’ / G-Double-E-K CULTURE AIN’T DEAD / Cause hey I got a question when they forget to mention / The world went and changed and they took it instead / But hey there’s nothing ending I think it’s just beginning / People like you with a lot at stake / People like me with a voice to raise / People like us who can lead the way (When They Say) / G-Double-E-K culture is dead

I’ve seen dogs in the summer time lying on the grass in the sun / I’ve seen cats hitting ivory keys / I’ve seen heroes drawn by Skottie Young / I look up / I look down / I look all around / But nothing that I find can compare to the time when I sat through the credit scene / Saw you dancing shaking up there / Cause I’ve never seen nothing as cute / As a Dancing Baby Groot / So play the Jackson 5 if you feel alive / And get the while world dancing with you / Cause I’ve never seen nothing as cute as a Baby Groot / You never say a lot / In fact I find it’s only three words / And the times when you eat yourself / Tell me, how does that never hurt? / I look left / I look right / I can’t sleep at night / The thought of you it won’t leave my head / From the time that I sat through the credit scene / Just when we all thought you were dead / Cause I’ve never seen nothing as cute / As a Dancing Baby Groot / So play the Jackson 5 if you feel alive / And get the while world dancing with you / Cause I’ve never seen nothing as cute as a Baby Groot / We’d have so much fun together / I’d keep your pot safe and I’d bring you water / Dancing to the music every night / I’d help you grow up big and strong / Take you back to space where you belong / And you’d always have a friend / I sat through the credit scene / And everything was leading to you / Cause I’ve never seen nothing as cute / As a Dancing Baby Groot / So play the Jackson 5 if you feel alive / And get the while world dancing with you / Cause I’ve never seen nothing as cute as a Baby Groot

On behalf of all the people here on Planet Earth / I’d like to offer an apology for what it’s worth / You see I’m reading the headlines and everyday / And it seems we’re messing up in a major way / So I called the coalition working planet-crimes / And after waiting thirty-minutes on the other line / A voice it picked up and said, “Thank you, hello… / The solar system met and we’re ready to go…” / Walk your dog / Kiss your wife / The invasion starts tonight / We had a good run / But now it’s done / It seems all the stupid people won / And all those who couldn’t get along now lose anyway / We had a good run / But now it’s done / It seems like the world had just begun / Now I’m sitting in my hotel room trying to find a way / Cause we gotta be here anyway / Now were done with politicians / Yeah we’re done with old religion / And we’re done with all the party lines / Nothing to fight about left when we all work in the mines / Call your friends / Grab a drink / It’s much closer than you think… / We had a good run / But now it’s done / It seems all the stupid people won / And all those who couldn’t get along now lose anyway / We had a good run / But now it’s done / It seems like the world had just begun / Now I’m sitting in my hotel room trying to find a way / Cause we gotta be here anyway / When I was a child / I stare up and smile / And wonder when they would arrive / But now that they’ve come / Our future’s undone / From all the times we could have tried / There’s a spark / There’s a light / Or a star in the night / But it’s flying to fast / Fill you tank full of gas / Call your Mom and your Dad / Cause the time that we had / Is about to expire / Yeah they’re coming tonight / There’s a spark / There’s a light / Or a star in the night / But it’s flying to fast / Fill you tank full of gas / Call your Mom and your Dad / Cause it’s about to get bad / Yeah they’re coming tonight / Here they come / We had a good run / But now it’s done / It seems all the stupid people won / And all those who couldn’t get along now lose anyway / We had a good run / But now it’s done / It seems like the world had just begun / Now I’m sitting in my hotel room trying to find a way / Cause we gotta be here anyway

Yes it’s true if you heard I died / Turns out I wasn't good at life / And now I’m haunting you / What else am I to do? / I was hit by a Chevrolet / Struck like a dog didn’t look both ways / And then late at night / I saw the light / They said I had my choice of the solar system / Saw you eating Pringles thought how much I missed em / And Nutella on toast / Now I’m your ghost / Quiet late at night you can hear me whispering / Tell my gamer friends just how much I miss em / I was made to haunt you / I was born to keep you up at night / You’ve got a headache? / That’s me twerking in your eyes / I was made to haunt you I was born to make you scream and cry / And now we’re friends for a lifetime / So what I’m dead? Yeah I still got needs / I’m still concerned bout my wi-fi speed / I got an Instagram, a verified account / I’m not on tinder yet / They said they’d kick me out / Cause I’m always meeting girls on the other side / Even me I’ve got a chance when everyone has died / I kissed a Roman girl / I’ve kissed some Incan's too / Oh yeah and crazy eyes from 1492 / You wouldn’t think it yeah but I still got feelings / Remember that one DB in the IT meeting who had called you out? / I turned him inside-out / You should’ve seen his face when he drowned to death in / A wall of hairy skin from the 9th dimension / I was made to haunt you / I was born to keep you up at night / You’ve got a headache? / That’s me twerking in your eyes / I was made to haunt you I was born to make you scream and cry / And now we’re friends for a lifetime / But the things that I miss while you dream in your sleep / Are the times when it’s just been you and me / When I knock on the door and no one is there / Like child that calls for it’s mom in the night / You can trust that it’s all gonna be alright / Forever my friend / It’s just you and me / For eternity / Ohhhhh / I was made to haunt you / I was born to keep you up at night / You’ve got a headache? / That’s me twerking in your eyes / I was made to haunt you I was born to make you scream and cry / And now we’re friends for a lifetime
7.
Have you ever had a friend that you lose / And your heart it was broken when truth it was spoken / Thrown away like a tissue that’s used / So I pushed up my glasses and crawled through the ashes / And when I see a choice in front of me / Where I can lay and die in apathy / Or I can move ahead and be free / I gotta live / I gotta Mutate, Baby! / I never thought it would end up so cool / That the ones who came after pretend it don’t matter / And though they’ll never say that I lit the fuse / Yeah I know in my heart that it’s here where it started / And when I see a choice in front of me / Where I can lay and die in apathy / Or I can move ahead and be free / I gotta live / I gotta Mutate, Baby!
8.
When the sun has set and the day is long / And the heat is sweet tea thick and wet against your bones / The traffic lights they have a hum / Watching as we pass at night beneath them / We all have debts we leave unpaid / It’s the weight of the swamp you feel that’s pressing on your back / And the house you build is yours to break / What good is cake if you can’t eat it anyway / When The Yellow King he comes around / Like whisper hanging in this town / And nothing here is quite like what it seems / Oh, The Yellow King / If a man is bad, then I’m a man / When the knocking of the door is more of me I’ll hold it shut / Can’t hide the hunger / Can’t hide the haunt / A room kept locked till the day that you get what you want / When The Yellow King he comes around like whisper hanging in this town / And nothing here is quite like what it seems / When The Yellow King he comes for you / There’s not much anyone can do / But tell yourself it’s nothing but a dream / Oh, The Yellow King / Everything we’ve done or will do / We’ve done over again / It’s the secret fate of everything / When The Yellow King he comes around like whisper hanging in this town / And nothing here is quite like what it seems / When The Yellow King he comes for you / There’s not much anyone can do / But tell yourself it’s nothing but a dream / Oh, The Yellow King

Jumping off of walls / Running down the halls when you see them coming at you / Streets are running red / There’s a battle in my head when I’m looking down at you / We’ve never met and I don’t even know your name / But I was made to help you find your way / And there is something left that I just need to say / Before the fall / They say your titan is ready / But I don’t know if I am / I see the world below me / And all of it’s problems / Cause there’s a part of me frightened of what I might do while I’m protecting you / My feet they hit the ground / There’s chaos all around as I’m reaching out to grab you / I tuck you right within / We become one and then I tell you that I trust you / I was made so you can make it all the way / Like a ship to to keep safe inside a squall / And if my lights go dark / And if my power fades / And if I fall / They say your titan is ready / But I don’t know if I am / I see the world below me / And all of it’s problems / Cause there’s a part of me frightened of what I might do while I’m protecting you

Born in a sweat-shop in East Mumbai / The sewing machine broke when he was just an inch high / The boss said, “I ain’t never seen a pocket that small!” / So he stitched him up quick / Sent him off to the mall / That’s where I found him hanging / Brought him into my life / Now he’s hanging out with me and Kirby Krackle for life / He’s Frank, The Pocket / Born out in East Mumbai / Six months down the road / Frank he lives with me / Caught in the siren call of celebrity / Friends like Trevor who’s a button into S&M / Yokoko / Check it / Got a zipper as a girlfriend / Baby it’s the latest trend / Won’t you take it away! / He’s Frank, The Pocket / Born out in East Mumbai

Shooting Star (free) 04:19
It’s not the first time / It’s not the last time / The world tells you more and more to keep giving up / Sometimes I feel I’m not made for this century / I’ve fought in world wars / I’ve ridden tidal waves / My mind it misbehaves / All the time I’m in my own way / Just like an itch I shouldn’t scratch but do anyway / So hey, look at me / Can’t you see? / You’re a shooting star reflecting in my eyes / Realize / All you have have inside / We’re all shooting stars just trapped here in disguise / Cause when the music starts and the beat gets moving / A neutron bomb as the bass starts booming / Then the room explodes with a sound so soothing / You and me keep the stars from burning out / I never understood / Oh, and why’d I think I could? / All we’re ever sold / Everything just seems outer space / It’s not about what what you’ve bought, what you have, or saved / I say we take it back / I say we just relax / I saw we all believe / Everything will turn out ok / Cause all we’re show is there’s gotta be another way / So hey, look at me / Can’t you see / You’re a shooting star reflecting in my eyes / Look inside / Who knows what you’ll find / We’re all shooting stars just passing through the night / Cause when the music starts and the beat gets moving / A neutron bomb as the bass starts booming / Then the room explodes with a sound so soothing / You and me keep the stars from burning out / Every single day / I’m trying to find a way / To live a life both prized and a sacrifice / Looking up at night / I can see you and me / And the sparks from our tails as we’re shooting across the sky / It’s not the first time…
